MABEL Portraits

Last updated: 23 October 2026

Welcome to MABEL Portraits.

We create personalised pet portraits, thoughtfully designed to celebrate the companions who mean so much to us.

These Terms & Conditions explain how our ordering, personalisation, artwork approval, production, delivery and returns processes work.

Please read them carefully before placing an order through our website, www.mabelportraits.com.

By placing an order, you agree to these Terms & Conditions, subject to your statutory consumer rights.

1. About MABEL Portraits

MABEL Portraits is a UK-based online business specialising in personalised pet portrait artwork.

Our portraits are individually designed using photographs supplied by our customers and are available in a selection of artistic styles, sizes, backgrounds and framing options.

Website: www.mabelportraits.com

Throughout these Terms & Conditions, references to "we", "us" and "our" mean MABEL Portraits. References to "you" and "your" mean the customer placing an order.

2. Our Personalised Products

Every MABEL portrait is individually created using the photographs and personalisation details supplied by the customer.

Our personalisation options may include:

  • Portrait style, including Classic, Mono and MUSE.

  • Background colour.

  • Pet names and personalised text.

  • Number of pets included.

  • Botanical design options.

  • Print size.

  • Frame colour and finish.

Each portrait is created specifically for the individual customer and their chosen specifications.

Our portraits are digital artworks that are professionally printed and, where selected, framed by our production partners.

As our products are personalised, they are subject to specific cancellation and return conditions explained in Section 6.

3. Placing an Order

When placing an order, you are responsible for ensuring that all information supplied is accurate.

This includes pet names, spelling, photographs, selected personalisation options, delivery addresses and contact details.

Once an order has been accepted, we will begin preparing your personalised artwork.

We may contact you if we require additional information, clarification or alternative photographs.

If we are unable to fulfil your order, we will notify you and arrange a refund of any payment received for the affected order.

We reserve the right to decline an order where there is a legitimate reason to do so, including where submitted content may infringe third-party rights.

4. Artwork Creation & Artistic Interpretation

Every MABEL portrait is created in one of our distinctive digital art styles.

Our artwork involves artistic interpretation of the photographs supplied. As a result, certain details, textures, colours and artistic elements may differ from the original photograph.

We aim to capture each pet's appearance, personality and individual characteristics as faithfully as possible within the selected artistic style.

The quality of the final artwork may be influenced by the resolution, lighting, clarity and composition of the photographs provided.

Where necessary, we may request alternative photographs to help achieve the best possible result.

Customers acknowledge that our portraits are artistic interpretations rather than exact photographic reproductions.

5. Your Artwork Preview, Revisions & Approval

Your approval matters.

At MABEL Portraits, we believe your portrait should be something you genuinely love.

Once your initial artwork has been prepared, we will send a digital preview to the email address provided at checkout.

You will have the opportunity to review your portrait and request changes before approving the final design.

Unlimited Revisions

We offer unlimited reasonable revisions to your selected portrait design before final approval.

These revisions allow you to request adjustments to the artwork so that you are happy with the finished design.

Unlimited revisions apply to the original portrait specifications selected at checkout.

Requests that substantially change the original order, including changing the portrait style, adding additional pets or introducing new personalisation options, may incur an additional charge.

Any additional charge will be explained and agreed before the requested changes are made.

Final Approval

We will never send your portrait for printing or physical production without your express approval of the final artwork.

Approval must be provided through an accepted communication method, such as replying to your artwork preview email.

By approving your artwork, you confirm that you are satisfied with the design and authorise MABEL Portraits to proceed with production.

Please carefully review all names, spelling, colours, composition and personalisation details before providing approval.

Once your artwork has been approved and production has begun, further changes may not be possible.

Approval of your digital artwork does not affect your statutory rights if the finished physical product is faulty, damaged, misdescribed or otherwise fails to meet applicable legal requirements.

6. Cancellations, Returns & Refunds

Personalised Products

All MABEL portraits are created specifically to the customer's individual requirements.

Under Regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, goods made to a consumer's specifications or clearly personalised are generally exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation right.

For this reason, we do not accept returns or provide refunds solely because a customer has changed their mind about a personalised portrait.

This personalised-goods exception may apply even where physical production has not yet begun.

Our artwork approval process is provided to ensure that customers can review and request reasonable changes to their design before printing.

Cancellation Before Artwork Approval

If you wish to cancel an order before approving your final artwork, please contact us as soon as possible.

As personalised design work may already have begun, cancellation requests will be reviewed individually.

Where we agree to a discretionary cancellation, any refund and any proposed deduction for work already completed will be explained to you and handled fairly, subject to your applicable legal rights.

We are not obliged to provide a change-of-mind refund where the personalised-goods cancellation exception lawfully applies.

Cancellation After Artwork Approval

Once you have approved your final artwork, your portrait will be authorised for production.

At this stage, changes or cancellations cannot ordinarily be accepted for reasons of personal preference.

Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Products

Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by our personalised-product policy.

If your portrait arrives faulty, damaged, misdescribed or does not conform to the agreed specifications, please contact us.

We may request your order number, a description of the issue and photographs to help us investigate.

We will assess the issue and provide the appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable consumer law.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, eligible UK consumers generally have a 30-day short-term right to reject goods that do not conform to the contract, subject to the legislation's requirements and exceptions.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts your statutory consumer rights.

7. Customer Photographs, Copyright & Image Permissions

By uploading or submitting photographs to MABEL Portraits, you confirm that you are the copyright owner of the images or have obtained the necessary permission from the relevant rights holder to submit and use them for the creation of personalised artwork.

You also confirm that you have obtained any other permissions reasonably required for the intended use of the photographs.

By submitting photographs, you grant MABEL Portraits and our authorised service providers a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, edit, adapt and reference those photographs solely as reasonably necessary to design, produce and fulfil your personalised portrait order.

This permission includes the creation of digital artwork based on the photographs supplied.

You confirm that, to the best of your knowledge, the photographs and their intended use do not infringe the intellectual property, privacy or other legal rights of any third party.

We reserve the right to decline photographs where we reasonably believe the necessary permissions have not been obtained or their use may be unlawful.

Customer-submitted photographs and completed personalised portraits will not be published for marketing or promotional purposes without appropriate additional permission.

We will handle submitted photographs and associated personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Product Images & Illustrative Purposes

All product photographs, lifestyle images, mockups and visual examples displayed on the MABEL Portraits website are provided for illustrative purposes.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that our product images accurately represent the appearance, style and quality of the products offered.

However, the final appearance of a personalised portrait may vary depending on the selected options, artistic interpretation, printing process and materials used.

Colours may appear slightly different between digital screens and printed artwork due to variations in screen settings, colour reproduction, lighting and printing processes.

Product images should be considered examples of the available styles and finishes rather than guarantees of every minor visual detail.

These illustrative-image provisions do not override the product description, agreed specifications or your statutory consumer rights.

9. Frame Materials, Sizes & Production Variations

MABEL Portraits works with carefully selected printing and fulfilment partners in different geographical locations.

The production partner used to fulfil your order may depend on your delivery country and product selection.

As a result, certain physical product characteristics may vary slightly between locations.

These may include:

  • Frame materials and construction.

  • Frame profiles and thickness.

  • Frame finishes and wood grain.

  • External frame dimensions.

  • Mounting and finishing details.

  • Packaging materials.

We aim to maintain a consistent standard of quality and appearance across all production partners.

Where customers select a specific artwork size, such as A4, A3 or A2, the supplied artwork will conform to the agreed size specifications, subject to any clearly disclosed tolerances.

External frame dimensions may vary depending on the frame design and production partner.

Where a specific frame material, construction or finish forms part of the product description or agreed specifications, the product supplied must conform to that description.

We will not knowingly substitute materially different products without appropriate disclosure and, where required, customer agreement.

Minor variations that are consistent with the agreed product description and specifications do not necessarily constitute a defect.

Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights if the product supplied is faulty, misdescribed or does not conform to the contract.

10. Pricing & Payment

Product prices are displayed in the currency shown on our website or at checkout.

The total order price, including selected personalisation options, applicable taxes and delivery charges, will be presented before payment is completed.

Certain personalisation options, including botanical designs or additional pets, may incur additional charges.

Any applicable additional charges will be displayed before the customer completes their purchase.

We reserve the right to update our prices and promotional offers at any time.

Price changes will not affect orders already accepted.

Payment must be completed using the payment methods available at checkout.

11. Production Times & Delivery

As each MABEL portrait is individually personalised, preparation and production times may vary.

Our production process begins only after the customer has expressly approved their final artwork.

Any production or delivery estimates provided on our website are estimates unless a specific delivery date has been expressly agreed.

We currently offer shipping to selected international destinations, including:

  • United Kingdom.

  • United States.

  • Canada.

  • Australia.

Available delivery destinations, shipping charges and estimated delivery times will be displayed at checkout.

We work with local and international production partners to fulfil orders efficiently.

Delivery times may be affected by production requirements, courier services, customs processing, public holidays and other circumstances.

If delivery is delayed, we will communicate with you and comply with our obligations under applicable consumer law.

Unless otherwise agreed, UK consumer law generally requires goods to be delivered without undue delay and within 30 days of the contract being entered into, subject to applicable legal provisions.

The risk of loss or damage to goods generally remains with MABEL Portraits until the goods come into the physical possession of the customer or a person identified by the customer to receive them, subject to applicable legal exceptions.

12. International Orders, Customs & Import Charges

MABEL Portraits accepts orders from selected countries outside the United Kingdom.

International orders may be produced and dispatched by local or regional fulfilment partners.

Depending on the destination, orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes or other charges.

Where these charges are not included in the price paid at checkout, this will be explained to customers before purchase where applicable.

Customers may be responsible for applicable import charges that have been clearly disclosed and are lawfully payable by them.

Delivery times and available product options may vary by country.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions removes mandatory consumer protections applicable in the customer's country of residence.

13. Incorrect Delivery Information

Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete delivery information at checkout.

If you discover an error in your delivery address, please contact us as soon as possible.

We will make reasonable efforts to update your delivery details before dispatch.

However, changes may not be possible once an order has entered production or the delivery process.

Any additional delivery costs arising from incorrect information supplied by the customer will be assessed fairly and in accordance with applicable law.

This section does not exclude our responsibility for delivery failures caused by us or our delivery partners.

14. Brand Ambassadors & Promotional Partnerships

MABEL Portraits may collaborate with independent brand ambassadors, content creators, influencers and promotional partners.

These individuals may promote our products, share their experiences and provide exclusive promotional or discount codes to their audiences.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, brand ambassadors operate independently and are not employees, directors, agents or authorised representatives of MABEL Portraits.

Participation in our ambassador programme does not, by itself, create an employment relationship, partnership, joint venture or authority to act on behalf of MABEL Portraits.

Brand ambassadors are not authorised to enter into contracts, make binding commitments, guarantee delivery dates, approve refunds, amend our policies or otherwise make contractual promises on behalf of MABEL Portraits.

Statements, opinions and recommendations made by independent brand ambassadors do not necessarily represent the official views or policies of MABEL Portraits.

However, nothing in this section excludes any responsibility MABEL Portraits may have under applicable advertising, consumer protection or other laws for promotional activity carried out on our behalf.

Ambassador Discount Codes

Discount codes provided by brand ambassadors are subject to the applicable promotional terms, eligibility requirements and expiry dates.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, promotional codes cannot be combined with other offers.

We reserve the right to amend, suspend or withdraw promotional offers, subject to applicable law and any commitments already made to customers.

All purchases made using an ambassador discount code are transactions between the customer and MABEL Portraits.

Customers purchasing through ambassador promotions remain subject to our standard Terms & Conditions and retain all applicable statutory consumer rights.

For official product information, order enquiries, returns or customer support, customers should contact MABEL Portraits directly through our official communication channels.

15. Promotional Offers & Discount Codes

From time to time, MABEL Portraits may offer promotional discounts, introductory offers or special pricing.

Promotional offers may be subject to additional terms, including minimum order values, eligible products, expiry dates and restrictions on combining offers.

Where applicable, these conditions will be communicated as part of the promotion.

We reserve the right to refuse the use of a discount code where it has expired, is invalid or does not meet the published eligibility requirements.

Any changes to promotional offers will be made in accordance with applicable consumer protection law.

16. Intellectual Property

The MABEL Portraits name, branding, website content, original design materials and other intellectual property are owned by MABEL Portraits or used with appropriate permission.

Purchasing a personalised portrait provides ownership of the physical product supplied but does not automatically transfer copyright or other intellectual property rights in the underlying artwork.

Portraits are supplied for personal use unless commercial use has been expressly agreed in writing.

Customers retain any intellectual property rights they hold in their original submitted photographs.

Customers may display, photograph and share images of their purchased physical portraits for ordinary personal, non-commercial purposes.

Commercial reproduction, resale of artwork copies or other commercial exploitation may require separate permission from the relevant rights holder.

17. Customer Communications

We will use the email address supplied at checkout to communicate important information about your order.

This may include:

  • Order confirmations.

  • Requests for additional photographs or information.

  • Artwork previews.

  • Revision requests.

  • Final approval confirmations.

  • Production updates.

  • Dispatch and delivery notifications.

Customers are responsible for providing an accurate email address and checking their inbox, including spam or junk folders, for communications relating to their order.

We will not proceed to physical production without express artwork approval.

If we are unable to obtain the information or approval required to complete an order, we will contact you regarding the available options and any applicable contractual or statutory rights.

18. Privacy & Data Protection

We respect the privacy of our customers and handle personal information in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

Personal information collected through our website may be used to process orders, communicate with customers, create personalised artwork, arrange fulfilment and meet legal obligations.

We may share information with authorised service providers where reasonably necessary to fulfil an order.

For further information about how we collect, use, store and protect personal information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

19. Website Availability & Accuracy

We aim to ensure that our website remains accurate, accessible and up to date.

However, occasional technical issues, interruptions, pricing errors or inaccuracies may occur.

We reserve the right to correct errors, update information and improve our website or services.

Where an error affects an order that has already been placed, we will contact the customer and explain the available options in accordance with applicable law.

20. Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

This includes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, and liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer protection legislation.

We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for losses that are not legally attributable to us.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

21. Changes to These Terms & Conditions

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our products, services, business operations or legal requirements.

The terms applicable to an order will generally be those provided when the order was placed, unless a change is required by law or separately agreed with the customer.

The latest version will be available on our website.

22. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer residing outside England and Wales, you may also benefit from mandatory consumer protection laws applicable in your country or place of residence.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions removes rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded.

Any disputes will be handled in accordance with applicable laws governing consumer contracts and jurisdiction.
